Almanacco 

 

 

With this project, I won the 1°Prize ILVA Design Award 2016. Now ILVA is taking this product in production.

 

The idea of this lamp comes from two simple natural phenomena, sunrise, and sunset. The movement of our planet around the sun, in fact, causes an illusion that makes us think that the sun is moving around the earth. From this simple and poetical marvel, I designed a lamp that as well our star moves from east to west.

 

Almanacco is an Italian word to describe a sort of calendar that provides the times of the rising and setting of the sun and moon. The idea to create a lamp inspired by this phenomena comes also from the necessity of having a flexible product. Almanacco can indeed be easily customized by the user, who can adjust the angle of the light simply rotating the metal parts as much as he needs.
